5.72.010 - Definitions.¶
A. "Farmers' market," as used in this chapter, means an event, held within the city, for the purpose of attracting business and social activities to the city by means of sales of fresh produce, honey, eggs or other agricultural or food products, and other items associated with agricultural living, including, but not limited to, goods and wares, as may be set forth by the sponsoring agency.
B. "Sponsoring agency," as used in this chapter, means the organization which administers, promotes and oversees a farmers' market, arts and crafts fair or other similar type event.

5.72.020 - License required.¶
It is unlawful for any sponsoring agency to transact and carry on the business of a farmers' market without first having procured a license from the city to do so, and paying the fee prescribed in this chapter.

5.72.030 - License fee.¶
The amount of the business license fee prescribed in this chapter shall be the same as the amount established for other retail merchants selling food, as set from time to time by resolution of the city council. Said license fee shall be in addition to, and a prerequisite of, a booth rental fee as may be required by the sponsoring agency.

5.72.040 - License application and issuance.¶
Application for such license shall be made to the city licensing officer in writing, on such forms as provided by the city licensing officer. Upon approval of such license, the city licensing officer shall issue a license to the sponsoring agency. Each license shall be nontransferable, separate and distinct, and no person shall seek to exercise the privileges granted thereunder except the person, corporation or association of persons to whom it is issued.
