Rialto Municipal Code Ch. 5.14 Warehouses

Unless the context otherwise requires, words and phrases used in this chapter shall have the same meaning as defined in Section 5.04.020 of this code.

For the purpose of generating more revenue for the city, every person, corporation or association of persons engaged in the operation of a warehouse or distribution facility shall be licensed and the requisite fee paid, whether formulated by the prior year's gross receipts, or calculated using the square footage of the facility, as chosen by the applicant.

It is a misdemeanor for any person, corporation or association of persons to operate, conduct or carry on a warehouse business in the city without first obtaining a license to do so, as in this chapter provided.

Application for such license shall be made to the city clerk in writing, on such form as provided by the city licensing officer.

Upon approval of such license, the city licensing officer shall issue a license to the applicant. Each license shall be nontransferable, posted in a conspicuous place in or on the premises in respect to which it is issued and shall be exhibited to any public official upon request. Each license issued under this chapter is separate and distinct and no person shall seek to exercise the privileges granted thereunder except the person, corporation or association of persons to whom it is issued and at the specific place for which it was issued.

The license fee for operating, conducting or carrying on such warehouse is an amount set from time to time by city council resolution per calendar year. Such license is payable in advance and paid to the city licensing officer upon the issuance of such license.
