Sec. 20.27. - DRIVING OVER FIRE HOSE:¶
It is hereby declared unlawful for any person to drive or allow to be driven any automobile, carriage, wagon or other vehicle over and across any fire hose when the same is in use upon the public streets of the City.

Sec. 20.28. - FOLLOWING FIRE ENGINES:¶
It is hereby declared unlawful for any person, other than members of the Fire Department and Police Department to follow a fire engine of the Fire Department to any fire in the City which is attended by the Fire Department, at a closer distance than three hundred (300) yards from the fire engine.

Sec. 20.29. - OPERATION OF VEHICLE WITHIN ONE HUNDRED YARDS OF FIRE OR FIRE ENGINE:¶
It is hereby declared unlawful for any person, other than members of the Fire Department and Police Department to drive or leave any automobile within one hundred (100) yards of any fire in the City, or within one hundred (100) yards of any fire engine while the engine is working at any fire in the City which is attended by the Fire Department.

Sec. 20.30. - TURNING MOVEMENTS—AUTHORITY TO PLACE AND OBEDIENCE TO TURNING MARKERS:¶
A. The City Manager is authorized to place markers, buttons or signs within or adjacent to intersections indicating the course to be traveled by vehicles turning at such intersections, and the City Manager is authorized to allocate and indicate more than one lane of traffic from which drivers of vehicles may make right or left hand turns, and the course to be traveled as so indicated may conform to or be other than as prescribed by law or ordinance.
B. When authorized markers, buttons or other indications are placed within an intersection indicating the course to be traveled by vehicles turning thereat, no driver of a vehicle shall disobey the directions of such indications.

Sec. 20.31. - TURNING MOVEMENTS—AUTHORITY TO PLACE AND OBEDIENCE TO PROHIBIT TURN SIGNS:¶
A. The City Manager is hereby authorized to determine those intersections at which drivers of vehicles shall not make a right, left or U turn, and shall place proper signs at such intersections. The making of such turns may be prohibited between certain hours of any day and permitted at other hours, in which event the same shall be plainly indicated on the signs or they may be removed when such turns are permitted.
B. Whenever authorized signs are erected indicating that no right or left or U turn is permitted, no driver of a vehicle shall disobey the directions of such sign.

Sec. 20.32. - TURNING MOVEMENTS—AUTHORITY TO PLACE AND OBEDIENCE TO SIGNS PROHIBITING…¶
The City Manager is hereby authorized to determine those intersections within any business or residence district at which drivers of vehicles shall not make a right turn against a red or stop signal and shall erect proper signs giving notice of such prohibition. No driver of a vehicle shall disobey the directions of any such signs.

Sec. 20.32.1. - TURNING MOVEMENTS—TURNS INTO PARKING SPACES IN A BUSINESS DISTRICT:¶
No vehicle traveling on a two-way street in a business district shall be turned or operated so as to enter a parking space upon the side of the street opposite from the vehicle's original direction of travel.

Sec. 20.33. - DESIGNATION OF THROUGH STREETS:¶
The Council may by resolution declare certain streets to be through streets*. Those heretofore so declared by resolution or ordinance are hereby ratified as through streets.

Sec. 20.34. - DESIGNATION OF STOP ENTRANCES:¶
The Council may by resolution declare one or more entrances to an intersection to be stop entrances. Those already so declared, either by resolution or ordinance, are hereby ratified as stop entrances*.

Sec. 20.35. - VEHICLES TO STOP AT STOP ENTRANCES:¶
When stop signs are erected as provided in Section 20.26 of this Chapter at the entrance to any intersection, every driver of a vehicle shall stop as required by the Vehicle Code of this State*.

Sec. 20.36. - EMERGING FROM ALLEY OR PRIVATE DRIVEWAY:¶
The driver of a vehicle emerging from an alley, driveway or building, shall stop such vehicle immediately prior to driving onto a sidewalk or into the sidewalk area extending across any alleyway*.

Sec. 20.37. - DRIVING ON RAILROAD TRACKS:¶
The driver of any vehicle proceeding upon any railroad tracks in front of a train upon a street shall remove such vehicle from the track as soon as practical after signal from the operator of the train unless prevented by other vehicles or while awaiting a traffic signal.

Sec. 20.38. - DRIVING THROUGH, ETC., RAILWAY GATES:¶
No person shall drive any vehicle through, around or under any crossing gate or barrier at a railroad grade crossing while such gate or barrier is closed or is being opened or closed.

Sec. 20.39. - DRIVING THROUGH FUNERAL PROCESSIONS:¶
No driver of a vehicle shall drive between vehicles comprising a funeral procession while they are in motion and when the vehicles in such procession are conspicuously so designated*.

Sec. 20.40. - DRIVING ON SIDEWALKS:¶
The driver of a vehicle shall not drive within any sidewalk area or any parkway except at a permanent or temporary driveway.

Sec. 20.41. - DRIVING ON NEWLY MADE PAVEMENTS, ETC.:¶
No person shall ride or drive any animal or any vehicle over or across any newly made pavement or freshly painted marking in any street when a barrier or sign is in place warning persons not to drive over or across such pavement or marking, or when a sign is in place stating that the street or any portion thereof is closed.

Sec. 20.42. - DRIVING SO THAT DIRT, ETC., IS DEPOSITED ON STREETS, ETC.:¶
No person shall cause or permit any vehicle under his operation and control to be operated or travel upon any street or sidewalk unless the wheels and tires of the same are free from dirt, debris or any other substance likely to be deposited or dropped on the street or sidewalk during the operation of any such vehicle.

Sec. 20.43. - OPERATION OF VEHICLES IN AREA ADJACENT TO SOUTHERN PACIFIC STATION:¶
The thoroughfare leading from Broadway to the Southern Pacific Passenger Station is hereby designated as a one-way street. All vehicles thereon shall be moved, stand or be parked only in a northwesterly direction thereon, away from the passenger station, and no vehicle shall be stopped or parked thereon unless a licensed and otherwise competent operator is and remains in such vehicle in a position to move such vehicle upon direction of any police officer.

Sec. 20.44. - STATE SPEED LIMIT INCREASED ON CERTAIN DESIGNATED STREETS:¶
It is hereby determined upon the basis of an engineering and traffic survey that a speed greater than the speed permitted by State law would facilitate the orderly movement of vehicular traffic and would be reasonable and safe upon the following streets, and it is hereby declared that the prima facie speed limit shall be as hereinafter set forth on those streets or portions thereof herein designated when signs are erected giving notice thereof:

Sec. 20.45. - STATE SPEED LIMIT DECREASED ON CERTAIN DESIGNATED STREETS GENERALLY :¶
It is hereby determined upon the basis of an engineering and traffic survey that the speed permitted by State law outside of business and residential districts as applicable upon the following streets is greater than is reasonable or safe under the conditions found to exist upon such streets, and it is hereby declared that the prima facie speed limit shall be as herein set forth on those streets or parts of streets herein designated when signs are erected giving notice thereof:

It is hereby determined upon the basis of an engineering and traffic survey that the speed permitted by State law upon the following streets for a truck or truck-tractor having three (3) or more axles or any truck or truck-tractor drawing any other vehicles is greater than is reasonable or safe under the conditions found to exist upon such streets, for such types of vehicles and it is hereby declared that the prima facie speed limit shall be as herein set forth on those streets or parts of streets herein designated when signs are erected giving notice thereof for such types of vehicles:

Sec. 20.46. - ONE-WAY STREETS AND ALLEYS; ERECTION OF SIGNS:¶
Whenever any resolution of this City designates any one-way street or alley, the City Manager shall place and maintain signs giving notice thereof, and no such regulations shall be effective unless such signs are in place.
