Poway Municipal Code Ch. 10.32 Speed Limits

The City is authorized by State law to establish prima facie speed limits other than those set forth by the California Vehicle Code, if the speed limits are based upon an engineering and traffic survey demonstrating that they are reasonable and safe, and would facilitate the orderly movement of vehicular traffic. The speed limits established by the City Council shall be set forth in an ordinance kept in the office of the City Clerk. A speed limit established by the City Council shall be effective when appropriate signs giving notice of the speed limit are erected upon the street.
