15.30.010 - Aboveground storage of inflammable liquids and explosives.¶
The storage and handling of inflammable liquids, liquefied petroleum, and explosives shall comply with all the rules and regulations of the State of California, the county of Plumas and the City of Portola. Except for wholesale sales and distribution, all bulk storage of inflammable liquids, liquid petroleum gases, explosives, gasoline, and lubricating and fuel oil for sale shall be unlawful above the ground in all zones, unless otherwise provided by state laws.
Any container which holds more than one thousand gallons shall be considered "bulk storage" and shall be buried. The aboveground storage of inflammable liquids and explosives in containers up to one thousand gallons may be authorized so long as such storage meets the criteria contained in the National Fire Protection Agency Rules and the Uniform Fire Code and as set by the local fire authority, and other state and federal rules and regulations.
