8100 - Adoption.¶
The code known as the "International Property Maintenance Code" 2025 Edition, (IPMC) promulgated and published by the International Conference of Building Officials, the purpose and subject matter of which among other things is to protect the public health and safety as set out in Section 102 of said uniform code, is hereby adopted and enacted as the Dangerous Buildings Code (DBC) for abatement of dangerous buildings in the City of Port Hueneme and made part of these Building Regulations by reference with the same force and effect as if fully set forth herein with specific modifications as indicated below. Such modified uniform code will be referred to herein as the Dangerous Buildings Code.
At least one (1) copy of the International Property Maintenance Code, 2025 Edition, has been deposited in the office of the City Clerk, and shall be at all times maintained by the City Clerk for use and examination by the public.

8101 - Section DBC 205—Appeals board.¶
The Appeals Board for the purpose of the Dangerous Buildings Code shall be the General Board of Appeals as set forth in Section 8007. Appeals to the board shall be processed in accordance with the provisions contained in Section 501 in the DBC.

8102 - Section DBC 501(b)—Processing of appeal.¶
Upon receipt of any appeal filed pursuant to Section 501 in the DBC, the Building Official shall present it at the next regular or special meeting of the Board of Appeals. The Building Official may, under the applicable procedures set forth in these Building Regulations, request and initiate a hearing before the Board of Appeals on any matter related to a dangerous building or the premises on which it is located.

8103 - Violations.¶
It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to erect, construct, enlarge, alter, repair, move, improve, remove, convert or demolish, equip, use, occupy or maintain any building or structure or cause or permit the same to be done in violation of this Code (CBC Section 103). Violations and violation penalties are subject to Sections 1100 and 1102 of the Port Hueneme Municipal Code.
