8150 - Adoption.

That housing code known as the "Uniform Housing Code," 1997 Edition, (UHC), promulgated and published by the International Conference of Building Officials, 5360 South Workman Mill Road, Whittier, California 90601, the purpose and subject matter of which, among other things, is to protect the public health and safety as set out in Section 102 of said Code, as adopted by the State of California, is hereby adopted and enacted as the primary housing code of the City and made a part of these Building Regulations by reference with the same force and effect as if fully set forth herein with specific modifications as indicated below.

At least one (1) copy of the Uniform Housing Code, 1997 Edition, has been deposited in the office of the City Clerk, and shall be at all times maintained by the City Clerk for use and examination by the public.

8151 - Section UHC 203—Appeals board.

The Housing Advisory and Appeals Board for the purposes of this Housing Code, shall be the General Board of Appeals as set forth in Section 8007 of these Building Regulations.

Appeals to the board shall be processed in accordance with the provisions contained in Section 1201 in the UHC.

8152 - Section UHC 302—Fees.

Section 302 in the UHC is hereby superseded by Section 8012 of these Building Regulations, expressly incorporated herein by reference. All references in the Uniform Housing Code to fees, fee schedules, or fee tables shall mean the fee schedule as established by Resolution of the City Council in accordance with Section 8012 herein.

8153 - Section UHC 1201.1—Processing of appeal.

Upon receipt of any appeal filed pursuant to UHC Section 1201, the Building Official shall present it at the next regular or special meeting of the Board of Appeals.

The Building Official may, under the applicable procedures set forth in these Building Regulations, request and initiate a hearing before the Board of Appeals on any matter related to a substandard building or the premises on which it is located.

8154 - Section UHC 204—Violations.

It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to erect, construct, enlarge, alter, repair, move, improve, remove, convert or demolish, equip, use, occupy or maintain any building or structure, or cause or permit the same to be done in violation of this Code. Violations and violation penalties are subject to Sections 1100 and 1102 of the Port Hueneme Municipal Code.
