Sec. 2-5.401. - Longevity advancement: Elected officers.

Elected officers shall receive a salary increase of five (5%) percent at the following times: upon the completion of seven (7), ten (10), fourteen (14), eighteen (18), and twenty-one (21) years of full-time continuous service, or the equivalent, measured from the date of taking office or the date of hire, whichever is appropriate.

Sec. 2-5.402. - Longevity advancement: Nonelected officers and employees.

Nonelected officers and employees whose salaries are set by this chapter shall receive a salary increase of five (5%) percent at the following times: upon the completion of seven (7), ten (10), fourteen (14), eighteen (18), and twenty-one (21) years of full-time continuous service or the equivalent, measured from the date of taking office or the date of hire, whichever is appropriate; provided that no step of longevity advancement shall occur in the absence of a satisfactory performance report from the Board of Supervisors.

Sec. 2-5.403. - Public Employees Retirement System contributions: Elected officers.

For each elected officer whose salary is set by this chapter and who is enrolled in the Public Employees Retirement System, the County shall pay all of the County's share of the required retirement contributions and four (4%) percent of the officer's salary as part of the officer's member share of the required retirement contributions. Pursuant to Government Code Section 20691, the Board of Supervisors retains the authority to amend this ordinance at any time to increase, reduce, or eliminate the payment by the County of all or a portion of the normal contributions required to be paid by elected officer members.
