11.36.010 Establishment of crosswalks—Generally.¶
The city traTc engineer shall establish, designate and maintain crosswalks at intersections and other places by
appropriate devices, marks or lines upon the surface of the roadway as follows:
Crosswalks shall be established and maintained at all intersections within the central traTc district and at such
intersections outside such district and at other places within or outside such district where the city traTc engineer
determines that there is particular hazard to pedestrians crossing the roadway subject to the limitation contained
in Section 11.36.020. (Ord. 858 NCS §1; prior code § 15.9(a).)
11.36.020 Establishment of crosswalks—Length of block.¶
Other than crosswalks at intersections, no crosswalk shall be established in any block which is less than four
hundred feet in length and such crosswalk shall be located as nearly as practicable at midblock. (Ord. 858 NCS §1;
prior code § 15.9(b).)
11.36.030 Signs at crosswalks.¶
The city traTc engineer may place signs at or adjacent to an intersection in respect to any crosswalk directing that
pedestrians shall not cross in the crosswalk so indicated. (Ord. 858 NCS §1; prior code §15.9(c).)
11.36.040 Business districts.¶
No pedestrian shall cross a roadway other than by a crosswalk in the central traTc district or in any business
district. (Ord. 858 NCS §1; prior code §15.9.l.)
11.36.050 Persons not to use drainage facilities.¶
No person shall walk in, ride in, or enter into, either on foot or by means of any vehicle, any drainage channel,
ditch, culvert, undercrossing or other drainage or sewer facility, or the right-of-way therefor, unless the same is
designated by the public or private owner therefor as available for public use or occupancy. No person shall walk
on, ride on, or enter onto, either on foot or by means of any vehicle or wheeled device, the top of the concrete cap
on the Sood wall in the Payran Street area adjacent to the Petaluma River, speciRcally from four hundred feet
downstream of the Lakeville Street Bridge to six hundred feet upstream of the Payran Street Bridge; and adjacent
to Washington Creek from the conSuence of the Petaluma River and Washington Creek to the Holly Lane Bridge
over Washington Creek. Nothing in this section shall prohibit entry of such facilities by the owner therefor, any
person designated by the owner or a person responsible for maintenance and operation thereof, for purpose of
maintenance, repair or other necessary operation of said facility. (Ord. 2121 NCS §1, 2001; Ord. 1277 NCS §1,
