Chapter 12.20 — PARK AND RECREATION FACILITIES

The Orland city parks shall be closed to public use every night between the hours of eleven p.m. and six a.m. the following morning.

A person who represents any nonprofit, tax- exempt organization, or any recognized, organized athletic group, may obtain a permit from the Orland city clerk authorizing such organization or group to use one or more of the Orland city parks between the hours of eleven p.m. and six a.m. the following morning. Prior to issuing such permit, the Orland city clerk shall determine that the organization or group is as it purports to be. Any person refusing or failing to divulge the information required by the Orland city clerk shall be denied the permit requested

Horses are prohibited and no person may possess or use a horse inside the confines of Orland city parks. For good cause on special occasions the city park's superintendent may waive the provision of this section. Such waiver must be requested prior to entering any Orland city park

The activity of golfing is prohibited inside the confines of all Orland city parks. Golfing is broadly defined as both the striking of a golf ball with any object and the use of a golf club to strike any object. For good cause on special occasions, the city parks superintendent may waive the prohibition of this section. Such waiver shall be in writing, and must be obtained prior to engaging in the activity.

Any person who violates any of the provisions of this chapter is guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction shall be punished as set forth in Section 1.12.010 of this code by a fine not to exceed one thousand dollars ($1,000.00) or by imprisonment for a period not to exceed six months, or by both such fine and imprisonment.
