2.44.010 - Designated.

All holidays listed in the state government as holidays in the State shall be holidays in the city except as otherwise provided in this chapter.

2.44.020 - Offices closed on holidays.

Public offices in the city shall be closed on holidays; provided, however, that the police and fire departments and offices thereof shall remain open on holidays and employees of the water department shall work such hours as shall be specified by the council.

2.44.030 - Additional holidays.

In addition to the holidays specified by Section 2.44.010 the following days shall be holidays in the city: all of Good Friday from twelve noon; all day every Saturday and in honor of Cesar Chavez on March 31st.

2.44.040 - Nondesignated holidays.

The following days shall not be holidays in the city unless the days fall on Saturday or Sunday:

A. February 12th;

B. October 12th;

C. Any day on which any election is held in the city or in any district of which the city is a part.

D. If February 12th or October 12th shall fall upon a Sunday, the following Monday shall not be a holiday.
