Orange Cove Municipal Code Ch. 2.20 Planning Commission

The city planning commission shall consist of five members who shall be appointed by the mayor with the approval of the council.

The term of office of the members of the city planning commission shall be four years; provided however, members of the first commission shall be appointed as follows: two for one year, one for two years, one for three years and one for four years, and successor shall be appointed for terms of four years.

If a vacancy shall occur in the city planning commission other than by expiration of term it shall be filled for the unexpired term by the mayor with the approval of the council.

The commission shall exercise all the powers and duties provided for a city planning commission under state law and such other laws as may be prescribed by the council.

Any appointed member of the planning commission may be removed by any of the following:

A. The appointing official, subject to the approval of the legislative body;

B. A four-fifths vote of the legislative body.
