Article 2 — City Council

Regular meetings of the City Council shall be held in the Ojai City Hall, located at 401 South Ventura Street, Ojai, California, on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month at the hour of 6:00 p.m. and adjourning at 9:30 p.m., or upon completion of agenda matters under consideration at time for adjournment. Subject to applicable statutes, meetings of the Council shall be conducted in accordance with Rosenberg's Rules of Order, latest Revised Edition. (§ 2, Ord. 212, as amended by § 2, Ord. 915, eff. March 7, 2021)

• (a) General . Members of the City Council shall be entitled to be reimbursed for all expenses incurred by them in the performance of their official duties.

• (b) Findings . The City Council finds and determines that the members of the City Council incur monthly out-of-pocket expenses in excess of the amount of $250.

• (c) Reimbursement—Flat amount . Each member of the City Council shall be entitled to receive monthly without written claim or demand the sum of $250 which shall be deemed reimbursement in full for all of the general day-to-day out-of-pocket expenses incurred by each member of the City Council in the functions and duties of that Council member's office.

• (d) Reimbursement—Itemized . Members of the City Council shall be entitled to reimbursement for other than day-to-day expenses as authorized pursuant to the administrative policies and procedures, including verification itemization, as adopted by the City Council as the same may be amended from time to time.

As permitted by Government Code Section 36516, all members of the City Council shall receive a salary of $988 per month, payable monthly on or about the first day of the month. Such adjustment amounts to an increase equal to five percent for each calendar year from 2018, the operative date of the last adjustment to City Council compensation, codified in the former Section 2-1.204, as authorized by Government Code Section 36516, subdivision (a)(4).
