5-43.008 Standards.

a.

General. Street lighting is determined to be necessary along all street frontages which require sidewalks.

b.

Specific Standard.

1.

In all commercial areas, required street lighting shall produce a nominal minimum of 0.2 candlepower per square feet of paved area.

2.

In all other areas, required street lighting shall produce a nominal minimum of 0.2 candlepower per square feet of paved area.

3.

Additional lighting may be required at intersections or crosswalks, if determined to be necessary by the city engineer, for added public safety.

4.

Street lights and their installation shall conform to the requirements of the City of Novato and the Pacific Gas & Electric Company.
