Chapter 18.50 — BOARD OF ZONING ADJUSTMENT

§ 18.50.010. Intent and Purpose.

The Board of Zoning Adjustment (BZA) is constituted so as to relieve the City Council and Planning Commission of certain administrative functions with respect to land use matters and to facilitate hearings and decisions on certain applications for land use as set forth hereinafter. § 18.50.020. Establishment of Board.

Pursuant to authority granted in Section 65900 of the California Government Code, a Board of Zoning Adjustment is hereby established to implement the intent and purpose of this chapter. (Ord. 578 Sec. 2 (part), 1987)

§ 18.50.030. Composition of Board.

The Board of Zoning Adjustment (BZA) shall consist of: the Director of Public Works, the Director of Community Development, the County Sheriff, the Fire Chief, and the Director of Parks and Recreation or their respective designees.

  • .031 Quorum. Any three (3) such members or designees thereof shall constitute a quorum for purposes of conducting business.

  • .032 Secretary. The Director of Community Development or designee thereof shall serve as the official secretary to the Board of Zoning Administration and shall cause records of determinations and actions of the Board, and documents and correspondence pertaining thereto, to be prepared and to be maintained for record purposes.

  • .033 Meeting Schedule. T he Board of Zoning Adjustments shall meet at such intervals as may be determined necessary to consider land use applications subject to its decisions in a timely manner.

§ 18.50.040. Powers and duties.

The Board of Zoning Adjustments shall have the authority and responsibility for review and decisions for the following types of land use applications:

  • .041 Special Event Permits. In compliance with the provisions of Chapter 18.51 of the Norco Municipal Code.

§ 18.50.050. Appeals.

Any decision of the Board of Zoning Adjustment may be appealed to the Norco City Council pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 18.43 of the Norco Municipal Code. (Ord. 578 Sec. 2 (part), 1987)
