5.08.010 - Insurance—Inspection—Fees.

Pursuant to Public Utilities Code § 5353(a), transportation services rendered by charter-party carrier which is wholly within the city limits may not operate unless and until it meets the following requirements:

A. The carrier shall have liability insurance of at least one million dollars and shall furnish the city with a certificate of insurance indicating that the insurance may not be canceled without giving at least fifteen days' written notice to the city.

B. The vehicles being operated by the carrier shall be inspected by the California Highway Patrol at least once per year.

C. The carrier shall pay to the city an annual license fee of one hundred dollars to cover the costs incurred by the city in verifying that the carrier is in compliance with this chapter.
