8.12.010 - Definitions.

As used in this chapter:

"Fence" means the exterior perimeter fence of the property of the person erecting the fence.

"Razor wire" means and includes straight, spiral or other configuration of wire with one or two sharp edges existing all along the length of the wire or on a significant portion thereof.

8.12.020 - Policy statement.

The board of supervisors finds that the use of razor-type wire in connection with the construction of fences constitutes a threat to the public health and safety in that both persons and animals may be seriously injured by the razor wire.

8.12.030 - Placing or maintaining prohibited.

No person or entity shall erect, cause to be erected, maintain or allow to be maintained on such person's property any fence or other structure where razor wire is placed, incorporated, added, or used in any manner.

8.12.040 - Violation—Penalty.

A violation of this chapter shall constitute a misdemeanor.
