SEC. 8.78.05. - Gas fireplace requirements.¶
Subsection 4.503.1 of the 2025 California Green Building Standards Code is amended to read as follows: 4.503.1 General. Any installed gas fireplace shall be a direct-vent sealed-combustion type. Any installed woodstove or pellet stove shall comply with US EPA New Source Performance Standards (NSPS) emissions limits as applicable, and shall have a permanent label indicating they are certified to meet the emission limits. Woodstoves, pellet stoves, and fireplaces shall also comply with applicable local ordinances. See Article 11, Division 2 of this Chapter for requirements associated with wood-burning appliances.
