Mountain View Municipal Code Div. 1 Purpose and Code Adoption

The purpose of this Article is to improve public health, safety, and general welfare by enhancing building design and construction to reduce negative environmental impacts and promote sustainable practices for all development.

The "California Green Building Standards Code, 2025 Edition," also referred to as "CALGreen," in its entirety, as published by the International Code Council, Inc., with the amendments adopted by the State Building Standards Commission in the California Code of Regulations (CCR) Title 24, Part 11, inclusive of Appendix A4 Sections A4.106.8.1 and A4.204.1 through A4.204.1.1, and Appendix A5 Section AS.107, is hereby adopted by reference with changes and modifications as hereinafter set forth, as defined in California Green Building Standards Code Section 101.7, and incorporated fully and from the date on which this Chapter shall take effect, the provisions thereof shall be controlling within the limits of the city of mountain view as the "Mountain View Green Building Code."

One (1) copy of the California Green Building Standards Code is on file and open to public inspection in the building division of the community development department of the city of mountain view.

Subsection 101.1 of the 2025 California Green Building Standards Code is amended to read as follows:

101.1 Title. These regulations shall be known as the Mountain View Green Building Code, may be citied as such, and will be referred to herein as "this code." The Mountain View Green Building Standards Code is part of the official compilation and publication of the adoption, amendment, and repeal of building regulations to the California Code of Regulations, Title 24, also referred to as the California Building Standards Code.
