SEC. 8.60.05. - Title.

Subsection 101.1 of the 2025 California Existing Building Code is amended to read as follows:

101.1 Title. These regulations shall be known as the Existing Building Code of the City of Mountain View, herein-after referred to as "this code."

SEC. 8.60.10. - Administration.

Chapter 1 (Administration), Division II (Scope and Administration), Part 2 (Administration and Enforcement) of the 2025 California Existing Building Code is deleted in its entirety and replaced with Chapter 1 (Administration), Division II (Scope and Administration), Part 2 (Administration and Enforcement) of the 2025 California Building Code as amended per Article IV of this Chapter.

SEC. 8.60.15. - Definitions.

Section 202 (General Definitions) of the 2025 California Existing Building Code is amended to modify, or add, the following definitions to read as follows:

Section 202 — General Definitions.

BUILDING OFFICIAL [BSC, DSA-SS, DSA-SS/CC]. The chief building official of the city of mountain view, or a duly authorized representative, charged with responsibility for compliance with the requirements of this code. For some agencies this person is termed the "enforcement agent." The chief building official or duly authorized representative is empowered to enforce the provisions of this code as a law enforcement officer pursuant to Chapter 2, Article X of the City Code.

BUILDING OFFICIAL [HCD 1, HCD 2] [OSHPD 1, lR, 2, 4 & 5]. The chief building official of the city of mountain view or other designated authority charged with the administration and enforcement of this code, or a duly authorized representative. The chief building official or duly authorized representative is empowered to enforce the provisions of this code as a law enforcement officer pursuant to Chapter 2, Article X of the City Code.

  2. any additions, alterations, or improvements to existing structures where greater than fifty (50) percent of the sum total of the following structural elements are added, removed, replaced or relocated within a 3-year period: (1) footings and foundation;(2) roof-framing; and (3) exterior walls.
