SEC. 29.1. - Transfer of certain city tax functions to county, compensation.

The city council does elect that the duties of assessing property and collecting taxes provided by law to be performed by the assessor and the tax collector of the city shall be performed by the county assessor and the county tax collector of the county in which the city is situated.

The amount of compensation to be charged by and paid to the county for the performance of the services of assessment and collection of taxes, as provided by general law, for and on behalf of the city, shall be fixed by agreement between the board of supervisors of the county and the city council of the city; provided, that the compensation shall not exceed one-half of one percent of all money collected for the city.

All duties, other than the assessing of the property of the city heretofore performed by the city assessor and all duties, other than the collection of taxes heretofore performed by the city tax collector shall be transferred to, and be performed by the director of finance of the city.
