5.36.330 - Violation.

A. It is unlawful for any person to demand, accept, receive, or retain any rent in excess of the amounts allowed under this chapter.

B. Any person may file a complaint regarding an alleged violation of this chapter with the city clerk.

C. The city attorney is authorized to, in his or her discretion, investigate and prosecute those complaints that in his or her determination merit prosecution.
