6.24.010 - Roller skating and skateboarding prohibited where posted—Public property.¶
A. No person shall skate, ride, or be propelled upon roller skates or operate a skateboard upon or along any walkway, parking lot, tennis court, or basketball court in the following areas:
Any City park, excluding the street-side sidewalks bordering the exterior of that park and parking lot;
Civic Center complex comprised of the publicly owned buildings and property bounded on the north by Benito Street, on the south by the private property boundary line, on the west side by Fremont Avenue and the east by the east border of Alma Hofman Park. Specifically excluded from enforcement of this section shall be the public street-side sidewalks bordering the exterior of the Civic Center complex;
Such other public property of the City where the City Council has prohibited the same.
B. The prohibition set forth in this section shall not apply until notice has been provided in accordance with Section 6.24.030.

6.24.020 - Roller skating and skateboarding prohibited where posted—Private property.¶
A. No person shall skate, ride, or be propelled upon or operate a skateboard upon or along or over any privately owned property in the City where the owner, manager, or other person in charge has prohibited the same.
B. The prohibition set forth in this section shall not apply until notice has been provided in accordance with Section 6.24.030.

6.24.030 - Posting procedure.¶
A. To prohibit the activity, official signs shall be posted prohibiting the use of skateboards and roller skates on the property. Such official signs must be posted in plain view at all entrances to the property or at all entrances to that portion of the property for which the use of skateboards and roller skates is prohibited. This procedure shall apply to both public and private property. On private property, the property owner is responsible for obtaining the signs in compliance with this chapter.
B. The signs shall be not less than 18 inches by 24 inches in size, with lettering of not less than 1 inch in height which prohibit the operation of skateboards or roller skates. The sign shall state that violators may be subject to citation per Section 6.24.040 of this chapter.
