2-4.201 - General.

The provisions of this article recognize that the general claim procedure against local public agencies, including the City, is governed by the provisions of Chapter 1 of Division 3.6 of the Government Code of the State of California (Government Code), commencing with Section 900 and following.

2-4.202 - Special Claims Procedure.

Pursuant to the authority contained in Section 935 of the Government Code and Section 1312 of the City Charter, the City establishes the following claims procedure for claims against the City for money or damages: Notwithstanding any other section or subsection of this Code, all claims against the City for money or damages, including all claims excepted in Section 905 of the Government Code, shall be presented in the manner prescribed by Sections 910 through 915.4 of the Government Code within the time limitations specified in Section 911.2 of the Government Code, and shall be subject to the provisions of Section 945.4 of the Government Code.

2-4.203 - Authorization to Approve Claims.

The City Manager is hereby authorized to approve payment of all claims against the City, except those required by law to be approved by the Council.

2-4.204 - Authorization to Sign Checks, Drafts and Warrants.

The City Manager or the City Clerk is hereby authorized to sign all checks, drains or warrants for and on behalf of the City. The Risk Manager is hereby authorized to sign checks, drafts or warrants drawn on the City's Worker's Compensation Revolving Trust Fund Account. Facsimile signatures on checks, drafts or warrants of the City in lieu of personal signatures are hereby authorized.
