Chapter 18.56 — OS-1 PRIMARY OPEN SPACE DISTRICT

§ 18.56.010. Regulations generally.

The provisions of Chapters 18.04 , 18.08 , 18.72 and 18.76 are made applicable to all OS-1 districts, subject to the specific provisions of Sections 18.56.020 through 18.56.090 . (Ord. 946 § 2 (part), 1981)

§ 18.56.020. Applicability.

The OS-1 primary open space district regulations are included in the zoning ordinance to achieve the following purposes:

  • (a) To set aside and protect those areas whose primary purpose is to be open space, either natural or designed;

  • (b) To limit development in areas hazardous to human health;

  • (c) To provide sufficient space to meet the community's present and prospective needs for various aesthetic perceptions, recreation requirements and cultural activities;

  • (d) To meet the criteria set forth in the open space and conservation element of the general plan. (Ord. 946 § 2 (part), 1981)

§ 18.56.030. Permitted uses.

Land may be used within the OS-1 district for primary open space uses as provided in the open space use table, Section 18.54.030 . (Ord. 946 § 2 (part), 1981)

§ 18.56.040. Use permits.

Those uses so indicated in the open space table, Section 18.54.030 , are permitted in the OS-1 district subject to the issuance of conditional use permit by the planning commission. (Ord. 946 § 2 (part), 1981; Ord. 1112 § 66, 1991; Ord. 1149 § 76, 1992)

§ 18.56.050. Area requirements.

There are no lot area requirements in the OS-1 district. (Ord. 946 § 2 (part), 1981)

§ 18.56.070. Height requirements.

The height requirement in an OS-1 district is as follows: maximum height twenty-five feet. (Ord. 946 § 2 (part), 1981)

§ 18.56.080. Parking requirements.

The parking requirements for uses permitted in the OS-1 district are set forth in Chapter 18.60 . (Ord. 946 § 2 (part), 1981)

§ 18.56.090. Tree removal requirements.

The tree removal requirement in an OS-1 district is as follows: Removal of live trees and dead wood shall be allowed upon granting of a tree removal permit by the department of public works. (Ord. 946 § 2 (part), 1981)
