Los Banos Municipal Code Ch. 10 Skateboard Parks

The purpose and intent of this chapter is to regulate public use of any City-owned skateboard park in the City that is designed and maintained for the purpose of recreational skateboard use and personal transportation devices and is not supervised by the City on a regular basis.

For purposes of this chapter, "personal transportation devices" shall mean any device which is used to propel or transport a person or persons by means of muscular power, wind power or any type of motor or engine (excluding motor vehicles, bicycles or wheel chair - invalid tricycle - or motorized quadricycle when operated by a person who operates such device due to a physical disability). Personal transportation devices include but are not limited to, skateboards, roller skates, in-line skates, and similar devices.

At any City-owned skateboard park, no person shall ride a skateboard or personal transportation devices thereon unless that person is wearing a helmet, elbow pads, knee pads and wrist guards.

There shall be a posting of signs at the skateboard park affording reasonable notice that any person riding a skateboard or personal transportation devices at the park must wear a helmet, elbow pads, knee pads and wrist guards, and any person failing to do so will be subject to a citation.

Any person violating any of the provisions of this chapter shall be punishable as set forth in Chapter 2, Title 1 of this Code, relating to infractions.
