2.16.010 - Established—Appointment.¶
A. A city planning commission is created in accordance with the provisions of Section 65100, et seq. of the California Government Code.
B. Such commission shall consist of seven members to be appointed by the mayor with the consent of the city council.
C. In order to be considered for appointment to the planning commission, a person must be a registered voter of the city of Lodi at the time of application for consideration. The provisions of this subsection shall apply to appointments made after October 15, 2003.

2.16.020 - Compensation.¶
Members of the planning commission shall receive the sum of twenty dollars for each and every meeting of the commission actually attended by them but not to exceed three meetings in each calendar month. Such compensation may be increased or decreased from time to time by resolution of the city council. All members of the commission shall be entitled to such expenses as are authorized by law when approved by the council.

2.16.030 - Officers—Rules—Powers and duties.¶
The city planning commission shall have power to elect its own presiding officer with the title of chairman and such other officers as may be necessary or expedient, to adopt rules of order and procedure, and do and perform its duties in conformance with Title 7 of the California Government Code and such other laws as may appertain to city planning and zoning.

2.16.040 - Terms of office.¶
The terms of office of the members of the planning commission shall be for four years from their respective dates of appointment; provided, however, that terms of office of the various members of the planning commission appointed after the effective date of the ordinance from which this section derives shall be determined by lot so that there will be staggered terms with one member to serve one year, two members to serve two years, two members to serve three years and two members to serve four years.
