§ 8.18.010. Inspection required.¶
Every person who shall be the owner of or have in his possession or control within the county, sheep or lambs or both, and all persons about to enter or entering the county with either sheep or lambs or both in any number whatever, shall annually have them examined by the inspector; and it is made the imperative duty of all persons entering or about to enter the county with either or both sheep or lambs to notify the inspector (or his deputy, if there be such) to inspect the sheep or lambs or both before the sheep or lambs or both are allowed to enter the county.

§ 8.18.020. Inspector—Appointment.¶
The board of supervisors shall appoint some suitable person to be inspector of all sheep or lambs within the county, such person to hold office until removed by the board of supervisors, and shall have the power to appoint as many deputies as may be necessary to carry out the provisions of this chapter.

§ 8.18.030. Inspector—Compensation, duty.¶
The compensation of the inspector shall be three dollars a day while actually inspecting or on the road to inspect, such compensation to be paid by the person whose sheep are inspected to the person inspecting, and it shall be the duty of the inspector to make the inspection of the sheep and lambs named in Section 8.18.010.

§ 8.18.040. Certificate issuance.¶
Any person or persons having in their possession or under their control any sheep infected with scab or other disease when notified by the inspector that sheep are diseased shall immediately proceed to dip or doctor the sheep under the direction of the inspector. The inspector, upon the payment of his charges, shall issue the certificate to the person having the sheep in charge, if he be satisfied that the disease after such treatment cannot be communicated.
