3.20.010 - Normal full time.

The normal hours of work comprising full-time city employment shall be forty hours per week. Fire Department employees schedule shall be fifty-six hours per week effective January 1, 1980.

3.20.020 - Daily working schedules.

The daily working schedule within these limits for each class of position in each department shall be in accordance with schedules established by each department head and approved by the city manager.

3.20.030 - Docking for absence.

Absences from work that are not charged to vacation, holiday, sick leave or other leave with pay, shall be deducted from the employee's salary.

3.20.040 - Overtime—Minimizing.

It is the policy of the city to keep work in excess of a normal week at a minimum and to permit such work only when the department heads consider it necessary to maintain essential public service.

3.20.050 - Overtime—Unauthorized.

Overtime work includes only that time worked by employees on the request and with the authorization of his department head in excess of the established work week for the class and department.

3.20.060 - Overtime—Compensation.

Overtime compensation shall be paid to employees subject to these provisions by allowing compensatory time off to be added to vacation allowance or to be taken at the convenience of the department, except that call-back overtime work of an emergency nature as defined by the department head and approved by the city manager may be compensated for by additional pay figured at one and one-half times the regular rate.

3.20.070 - Overtime—Payment on separation.

Should an employee have an accumulation of compensatory time off at the time of his separation from the service, he shall be paid for such accumulation in cash.
