§ 3.12.010. State employee's retirement system—Participation authorized.¶
A contract between the city council and the Board of Administration, California State Employee's Retirement System, as amended pursuant to Ordinance 764, is authorized. A copy of such contract, as amended, may be found in the office of the city clerk. Ordinance No. 881, adopted on July 3, 1973, Ordinance No. 896, adopted December 11, 1973, and Ord. No. 1111, adopted March 4, 1980, amended such contract.

§ 3.12.020. State employee's retirement system—Mayor directed to execute contract.¶
The mayor is authorized, empowered and directed to execute the contract as amended, referred to in Section 3.12.010, for and on behalf of the city.

§ 3.12.030. Normal and mandatory retirement ages.¶
A. The normal retirement age for all members of the retirement system shall be age fifty for safety employees, and age sixty for miscellaneous employees.
B. The mandatory retirement age for all employees will be in compliance with the laws of the state governing the Public Employees Retirement System.
C. Employees desiring to work beyond the mandatory retirement age may do so by complying with the appropriate section currently in effect with Public Employees Retirement System (current Government Code, Section 20983.6). In addition, the employee shall process a request to the city council to extend employment beyond the mandatory retirement age, and the employee shall be subject to the same rights and liabilities as other active members.
