§ 3.24.010. Designated.¶
A. Pursuant to Section 6700 of the Government Code and other applicable provisions of law, the days hereinafter set forth are designated and fixed by this section as holidays to be observed by the city, its officers and employees:
January 1st New Year's Day;
Third Monday in January, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day;
Third Monday in February, President's Day;
Fourth Monday in May, Memorial Day;
July 4th, Independence Day;
First Monday in September, Labor Day;
November 11th, Veteran's Day;
Thanksgiving Day, as proclaimed by the State or Governor;
The day following Thanksgiving Day;
December 25th, Christmas Day;
One floating holiday.
B. There shall be no other city holidays except those set out in subsection A of this section.
C. Floating holidays shall be subject to rules established by resolution of the city council. Rules relating to the taking of holidays falling on Saturday and Sunday shall be established by resolution of the city council.
