10.32.010 - Stop sign erection authority and placement procedure.

Whenever this code designates and describes any street or portion thereof as a through street, or this code or resolution of the city council describes any intersection at which vehicles are required to stop at one or more entrances thereto, the city traffic engineer shall erect and maintain stop signs as follows: A stop sign shall be erected on each and every street intersecting such through street or portion thereof so designated and at those entrances of other intersections where a stop is required. Every such sign shall conform with and shall be placed as provided in Sections 21400 and 21401 of the Vehicle Code.

10.32.020 - At through streets or stop signs.

A. Those streets and parts of streets, designated by ordinance or resolution of the city council as such, shall be through streets.

B. The provisions of this chapter shall also apply at one or more entrances to the intersections as such entrances and intersections are described by ordinance or resolution of the city council.

C. When stop signs are erected as provided in Section 10.32.010 at the entrance to any intersection, every driver of a vehicle shall stop as required by the Vehicle Code.

10.32.030 - Emerging from alley or private driveway.

The driver of a vehicle emerging from an alley, driveway or building shall stop such vehicle immediately prior to driving onto a sidewalk or into the sidewalk area extending across an alleyway.
