Sec. 6-4-501. - Authorization.

A. The City is authorized to establish, purchase and operate public works to furnish light and electrical power to the inhabitants, businesses and lands within those areas of the City, as such boundaries exist as of the date of this chapter or in the future, that do not receive electric utility service as of the date of this chapter.

B. The power and authority set forth in this section shall include the power to complete, reconstruct, extend, change, enlarge and repair a public utility acquired, constructed, owned or operated by the City.

C. For the purposes set forth in Subparagraphs A and B, the City may acquire, own, control, sell or exchange lands, easements, licenses and rights of every nature within or without its present or future corporate limits, and may operate a public utility within or without the present or future corporate limits when necessary to supply the City, or the inhabitants, businesses or lands within the City, or any portion thereof, not then served with electrical utility service, with municipal electric utility service.

Sec. 6-4-502. - Electrical service and metering for City Park Property.

Electrical service providers shall permit multiple points of connection for electrical service and metering on a City-owned park property, as determined by the Director of Public Works.
