Sec. 6-10-101. - Public works contracts.¶
This division shall apply to all public works contracts awarded by the City of Irvine. Nothing herein contained, however, shall preclude the City of Irvine from utilizing more restrictive procedures if and when required by federal or State law where federal or State funds are involved in the contract to be awarded. All public works contracts shall be awarded in compliance with the City Charter and applicable federal and State laws. By Resolution No. 03-09, the City of Irvine elected to become subject to the Uniform Public Construction Cost Accounting Act (Public Contract Code § 22000 et seq.).

Sec. 6-10-102. - Definition of terms.¶
The definitions of the following terms are as set forth in Part 3 of Division 2 of the Public Contract Code as may be amended from time to time, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning:
Best value.
Design-build, also referred to as design-build project.
Design-build entity.
Design-build team.
Facility.
Maintenance work.
Progressive design-build.
Public project, also referred to herein as public works project.
