Sec. 3-9-101. - Creation.¶
There is hereby created a Health and Wellness Advisory Committee for the City.

Sec. 3-9-102. - Composition.¶
The Health and Wellness Advisory Committee shall be comprised of no more than 11 voting members.

Sec. 3-9-103. - Appointment.¶
Health and Wellness Advisory Committee members shall be appointed as follows:
Each member of the City Council shall appoint one member to the Committee, who shall serve at the pleasure of the member of the City Council who appointed such Committee member.
One Member-At-Large shall be selected by the City Council through a public recruitment to serve a term lasting no more than two years.
The following groups will be asked to appoint one person to represent the interests of their respective constituencies to serve at the pleasure of their organization: Irvine Unified School District, Tustin Unified School District, and Irvine Valley College.

Sec. 3-9-104. - Duties.¶
The Health and Wellness Advisory Committee shall have the duty to:
A. Review the progress of City health and wellness initiatives related to:
Programs for children, youth, and families;
Housing program assistance;
Supportive services; and
Irvine Cares community programming.
B. Collaborate with community organizations on enhancement of health and wellness-related services and programs.
C. Conduct outreach and serve as a liaison to the community by informally sharing information learned at meetings and promoting relevant City events.
D. Share questions, concerns, and ideas from the community with the Health and Wellness Advisory Committee.
E. Report annually on goals and accomplishments.
F. Perform such other duties as directed by the City Council.

Sec. 3-9-105. - Meeting and procedures.¶
A. The Health and Wellness Advisory Committee shall meet regularly at least four times per year at a time and place within the City of Irvine, and shall hold such other meetings as from time-to-time shall be called in the manner and form required by law.
B. The meetings and procedures of the Health and Wellness Advisory Committee shall be subject to and governed by the resolutions and ordinances of the City Council establishing rules and regulations for committees.
