Ione Municipal Code Ch. 10.12 Obedience to Traffic Signals

The driver of any vehicle within and upon the streets and roadways of the city shall obey the instructions of any official traffic signal applicable to him and placed as provided by law, unless otherwise directed by a police or traffic officer.

No vehicle shall turn so as to proceed in the opposite direction upon Wilda Court at the intersection of Preston Avenue and the westerly end of Wilda Court.

The driver of an authorized emergency vehicle shall be exempt from Section 10.12.010 under the following conditions:

A. Said exemption shall apply whenever the vehicle is being driven in response to an emergency call or when used in an immediate pursuit of an actual or suspected violator of the law, or when responding to, but not returning from, a fire alarm.

B. Said exemption shall apply only when the driver of said vehicle sounds his siren as may be reasonably necessary and the vehicle displays a lighted red lamp visible from the front as a warning to others, but said exemption shall not relieve the driver of any said vehicle from the duty to drive with due regard for the safety of all persons using the streets and roadways, nor shall the provisions of this section protect any such driver from the consequences of an arbitrary exercise of the privileges declared in this section.

The driver of any vehicle within and upon the streets and roadways of the city shall stop at the stop signs at the following intersections:

A. Fairway Drive at Olympic;

B. Fairway Drive at Foothill;

C. Fairway Drive at Lake View;

D. Fairway Drive at Oak View;

E. Shakeley Lane at Poppy;

F. West Marlette at Depot Drive;

G. West Marlette at Violet Lane;

H. West Marlette at the 1400 block.

The penalty for violation of any section of this chapter is an infraction as prescribed in Section 1.08.030 of this code.
