Imperial County Municipal Code Ch. 3.48 Travel Authorization and Reimbursement

Officers, employees and other authorized persons shall be reimbursed for actual and necessary travel expenses while on official county business in accordance with provisions of this chapter and with rules and regulations as the board of supervisors may adopt by resolution.

Travel outside the county may be authorized in accordance with rules and regulations as the board of supervisors may adopt by resolution.

Every county employee who is authorized to use a privately owned vehicle in the discharge of employment shall receive a mileage allowance as determined by law or resolution of the board of supervisors. County employees utilizing private vehicles shall meet the financial responsibility requirements of California Vehicle Code, Sections 16000, et seq.

Claims for reimbursement for travel expenses and mileage shall be timely filed in accordance with rules and regulations as the board of supervisors may adopt by resolution. Expenses and mileage shall be paid by county warrants unless otherwise provided by law, rule or regulation. Late claims shall be disallowed, unless the board, acting at its discretion, shall waive timely filing upon showing of good cause by the applicant.
