9.30.010 - Purpose.

The Huron city council finds that the use of methamphetamine is a national health crisis that affects the health and welfare of the citizens of the City of Huron and that the local production of methamphetamine, a key component of which is pseudoephedrine, is of staggering proportions. This chapter places limits on the display of medications containing pseudoephedrine in an attempt to limit a methamphetamine manufacturer's ability to obtain pseudoephedrine for the illegal production of methamphetamine.
