Former Ch. 15.05 pertained to the Uniform Housing Code and Uniform Code for the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings and derived from Ord. 650, adopted 2003.

15.05.010 - Purpose.¶

The purpose of this chapter is to provide for the administration and enforcement of the technical codes adopted by this jurisdiction, to provide minimum standards to safeguard life, limb, health, property, and public welfare by regulating and controlling the use, occupancy, location, and maintenance of all residential buildings and structures within this jurisdiction and to provide a just, equitable, and practicable method, to be cumulative with and in addition to any other remedy provided by the other parts of this code or otherwise available by law, whereby buildings or structures (which from any cause endanger the life, limb, health, morals, property, safety, or welfare of their occupants or the general public) may be required to be repaired, vacated, or demolished, and to provide for the imposition of penalties for violations and to adopt uniform rules, regulations, and standards in respect thereto.
