Sec. 30-171. - Application restrictions.

(1) Manure shall not be transported or applied to sites located less than ¼ mile from a public school on days when that school is in session.

(2) Manure shall not be transported or applied to sites located less than ½ mile from sensitive receptors such as senior care facilities, senior restricted communities, or hospitals.

(3) Manure shall not be applied within 100 feet of any well.

(4) Manure shall be spread evenly across the entire site.

(5) Upon application, manure shall be incorporated into the soil by discing or other suitable tillage within the timelines set forth below. Manure incorporation shall be thorough, to a depth of not less than six inches.

a. Less than 20 acres: Within 48 hours of delivery.

b. Greater than 20 acres: Within seven days of delivery.

(6) Manure shall not be applied in wet or windy conditions (over five mph) or in any other condition which would inhibit effective incorporation into the soil.

(7) Manure delivery shall not take place until at least a 48-hour notice is given to the director of planning (excluding weekends and legal holidays). This shall be done by either fax or through hand delivery.
