Sec. 2-61. - Officers' bonds.¶
(a) Required; conditions. The city clerk, the city treasurer, the deputy city treasurer and the city manager shall at all times be bonded to the city in the penal sums required in this section, which bonds, and each of them, shall be conditioned upon the faithful performance by such officers of the duties of their respective offices, as well as any duties which such officers shall undertake for the city, ex officio or otherwise, not included as a regular and official duty of their primary office.
(b) Amount. The amount of bond required of the city clerk, city manager, city treasurer and deputy city treasurer shall be set from time to time by the council, and a schedule of such bond amounts in on file in the city clerk's office.
(c) Sureties. Each of the bonds required by this section shall contain all the provisions provided by the laws of the state relating to the official bonds of officers, and each thereof shall have as sureties either two freeholders of the state, each of whom shall be worth, above all exemptions, a sum double the amount provided in such bond, or a corporate surety, approved by the city council.
(d) Filing. The bonds required by this section shall be filed with the city clerk, except the bond of the city clerk, which shall be filed with the mayor.
