State Law reference— For statutory provisions authorizing cities to inspect subdivision maps and make recommendations as to subdivisions within three miles outside their boundaries, see Bus. & Prof. Code § 11528.

Each city in the county may establish an area of influence extending not more than three miles from the city boundary line into adjoining unincorporated area of the county.

Where an area of influence has been established, and where a map thereof has been filed with the county together with a written request that copies of all subdivisions in that area be submitted to the interested city for a report thereon:

A. The resources and development department shall submit one copy of each tentative map regarding property located in said area to the city making the request;

B. The city making the request may, within fifteen days after the receipt thereof, make its report and recommendations thereon; and

C. In the event the city makes a report, the county planning commission shall take the report into consideration before any action is taken on the tentative map. If no report is received within fifteen days, the planning commission shall assume that there are no recommendations to be made.
