11.16.010 - Angle parking—Restrictions.

A. It is determined, on the basis of an engineering and traffic survey, that angle parking is reasonable and safe and will not significantly reduce traffic capacity on the following streets or highways:

  1. East side of Castro Avenue from DeWoody Avenue to a point one hundred feet north of DeWoody Avenue;

  2. East side of College Avenue from a point three hundred thirty feet north of Bullard Avenue to the end of the cul-de-sac three hundred seventy feet north of Bullard Avenue;

  3. West side of College Avenue from a point two hundred sixty feet north of Bullard Avenue to the end of the cul-de-sac three hundred seventy feet north of Bullard Avenue;

  4. North side of DeWoody Avenue from a point one hundred ninety feet west of Castro Avenue to a point one hundred twenty feet east of Fowler Avenue;

  5. North side of DeWoody Avenue from Castro Avenue to a point two hundred five feet west of Pio Pico Avenue;

  6. South side of DeWoody Avenue from Castro Avenue to a point one hundred sixty-five feet west of Castro Avenue;

  7. North side of G Street from Biola Avenue to a point one hundred seventy-seven feet west of Biola Avenue;

  8. North side of G Street from a point fifty feet east of Biola Avenue to a point one hundred ten feet east of Biola Avenue;

  9. South side of G Street from a point two hundred seventy-five feet west of Biola Avenue to a point four hundred thirty feet west of Seventh Street;

  10. East side of Malsbary Avenue from a point forty-five feet north of Mt. Whitney Avenue to a point thirty feet south of Hensen Avenue;

  11. West side of Malsbary Avenue from a point twenty feet north of Mt. Whitney Avenue to a point thirty feet south of Hensen Avenue;

  12. Northwest side of Morro Avenue from Wildwood Avenue to Portola Avenue;

  13. Southeast side of Morro Avenue from Wildwood Avenue to a point eight hundred feet north of Wildwood Avenue;

  14. North side of Mt. Whitney Avenue from a point sixty feet west of Haslam Avenue to a point thirty-five feet east of Valentine Avenue;

  15. North side of Mt. Whitney Avenue from a point eighty feet west of Valentine Avenue to a point twenty feet east of Malsbary Avenue;

  16. North side of Mt. Whitney Avenue from a point thirty feet west of Malsbary Avenue to a point two hundred ten feet east of Sherrill Avenue;

  17. East side of Oak Street from a point fifty feet north of Tahoe Street to a point one hundred forty feet north of Tahoe Street;

  18. West side of Oak Street from a point fifty feet south of Tahoe Street to a point one hundred twenty feet south of Tahoe Street;

  19. North side of Tahoe Street from a point seventy feet west of Pear Street to a point three hundred forty feet west of Pear Street;

  20. South side of Tahoe Street from a point seventy feet west of Pear Street to a point three hundred forty feet west of Pear Street;

  21. Northwest side of Tahoe Avenue from a point forty feet northeast of Oak Avenue to a point one hundred thirty feet northeast of Oak Avenue;

  22. Northwest side of Tahoe Avenue from a point forty-five feet southwest of Oak Avenue to a point two hundred seventy-five feet southwest of Oak Avenue;

  23. Southwest side of Tahoe Avenue from a point forty-five feet northeast of Oak Avenue to a point one hundred feet northeast of Oak Avenue;

  24. Southeast side of Tahoe Avenue from a point forty feet southwest of Oak Avenue to a point two hundred thirty feet southwest of Oak Avenue;

  25. East side of Tenth Street from a point eleven feet south of Jensen Avenue to a point ninety-nine feet south of Jensen Avenue.

B. No person shall angle park on any roadway or street or portions thereof unless official signs or markings designating such parking are in place.

11.16.020 - Loading zones.

A. The director of public works is authorized to determine and establish the location and duration of loading zones.

B. The type of loading zones and the applicable restrictions therein are as follows:

  1. "Passenger loading zone" means an area wherein all vehicles are prohibited from. stopping, standing or parking, except for the limited purpose of loading or unloading passengers for a period of use not to exceed three minutes during each day of the week between seven a.m. and six p.m., excluding Sundays and holidays, except that the director of public works may extend such time period for hotels, theaters and schools as he deems necessary to provide for traffic safety needs.

  2. "Freight loading zone" means an area wherein all vehicles are prohibited from stopping, standing or parking, except for the limited purpose of loading or unloading freight between seven a.m. and six p.m. on each day of the week, except Sundays and holidays and for a period of use not to exceed thirty minutes.

  3. "Bus loading zone" means an area wherein all vehicles are prohibited from stopping, standing or parking, except buses when used for the limited purpose of loading or unloading passengers.

  4. "Postal mail zone" means an area wherein all vehicles are prohibited from stopping, standing or parking, except for limited purpose of depositing mail in an adjacent mailbox and for a period of use not to exceed one minute.

C. When the director of public works has caused curb markings or appropriate signs to be placed pursuant to the provisions of this section, it shall be unlawful for any person to stand, stop or park a vehicle in violation of the markings or signs so placed.

11.16.500 - Violation—Infraction.

Any person violating any provision of this chapter is guilty of an infraction punishable pursuant to the provisions of Section 1.12.020 of this code.
