11.08.010 - Prohibited generally.¶
No person shall stop, park or leave standing any vehicle, whether attended or unattended, except when necessary to avoid conflict with other traffic or in compliance with law or the direction of a peace officer or official traffic control device, in any of the following places or for any of the following purposes or under any of the following conditions:
A. Upon any public highway within thirty feet upon the approach to any official traffic control device;
B. Upon any public highway within any median strip between roadways or within any traffic island or other area designed to separate or guide the movement of traffic;
C. Upon any public highway on or adjacent to the left-hand side of any one-way roadway of a divided highway unless signs are in place permitting such standing or parking;
D. Upon any public highway for the purpose of repairing or adding or removing any part or accessory to or on any vehicle. The provisions of this section do not prohibit the operator of any vehicle which is disabled while upon any highway to such extent that it is impossible to avoid stopping, from making or causing to be made the repairs necessary to enable such vehicle to be moved from the public highway, provided that such repairs shall be completed or the vehicle moved within twenty-four hours from the time of disablement;
E. Upon any public highway for the purpose of displaying such vehicle for sale;
F. Upon any public highway for more than seventy-two consecutive hours in the same location.
Any vehicle parked or left standing in violation of this section for more than seventy-two consecutive hours may be removed to a public garage by any peace officer in conformance with all applicable provisions of the California Vehicle Code.

11.08.500 - Violation—Infraction.¶
Any person violating any provision of this chapter is guilty of an infraction punishable pursuant to the provisions of Section 1.12.020 of this code.
