14.56.010 - Definitions.¶
(a) "Recreational vehicle" means any vehicle maintained for use as a conveyance upon the highway, capable of being propelled, carried or towed from one place to another, so designed and constructed as to permit use thereof as a temporary dwelling or sleeping place for one or more persons, with built-in cooking facilities, having no foundation other than wheels, jacks or temporary supports. "Recreational vehicle" includes pickups with self-contained or slide-in campers, but does not include pickups with mounted camper shells.
(b) "Recreational trailer" means any camping trailer and any trailer designed for transporting boats, motorcycles, horses or other livestock, tents and any other recreational equipment.

14.56.020 - Recreational vehicle and trailer parking.¶
(a) Except as provided in subsections (b) and (c) of this section, no person shall park any recreational vehicle or recreational trailer, boats, boat trailer and utility trailer between the hours of 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. on any street, alley, highway, city-owned parking lot, or other city-owned or leased property upon which parking is permitted. A citation shall be issued for every violation of this section. A separate citation will issue for each continuing twenty-four-hour period, or portion thereof, during which the violation persists.
(b) Where a resident within the city has a visitor from an area other than the city, and that visitor arrives with a recreational vehicle or recreational trailer, the visitor may park the recreational vehicle or recreational trailer in the street adjacent to the host residence for not more than seven days, provided that parking room is available there, that parking the recreational vehicle or trailer does not constitute a safety hazard, and that the police department has issued a parking permit on or before the first day the recreational vehicle or trailer is so parked. Each applicant desiring a parking permit shall file with the police chief a city application form therefor and pay the processing fee if required by resolution of the city council. The permit shall be issued in a form approved by the police chief and shall be displayed inside the recreational vehicle or trailer in a manner that is clearly visible form the exterior of the recreational vehicle or trailer.
(c) A person may park a recreational vehicle or trailer upon any street for a period of seventy-two hours or less, for the purpose of loading, unloading or preparing the vehicle for use, or to carry out emergency repair for a period of twenty-four hours or less, for such limited purpose and time, provided such person shall notify the police department beforehand.
(d) Signs giving reasonable notice of the prohibitions contained in this section shall be erected within the city as required by California Vehicle Code § 22507.
