6.01.910 - Possession.

It shall be unlawful for any person to possess, keep or have care, custody or control of a wild animal or wildlife within the city.

6.01.915 - Distribution and importation.

It shall be unlawful for any person to sale, give away, trade, transfer or import into the city any wild animal.

6.01.920 - Wild animal exemption.

This section shall not apply to approved zoological parks, performing animal exhibitions or circuses. Nor shall this section apply to primary and secondary schools, colleges and universities, zoological parks owned or operated by a governmental entity or any animal assisting physically handicapped persons.

6.01.925 - Disabled or infirm wild animals.

Any person who finds an infant, injured or sick wild animal within the city of Farmersville shall immediately notify Farmersville police department or Farmersville animal control.

6.01.930 - Bees.

A. It shall be unlawful for any owner to bring, have, keep, or maintain, within the city any swarm or swarms, colony or colonies of honey bees. Exception shall be for apiaries traveling through the city without stopping.

B. Any swarm or swarms, colony or colonies of honey bees located within the city shall be deemed a public nuisance; and it is made the duty of any officer to abate such nuisance by either destroying any such bees, or by removing or causing the same to be removed from the city.

6.01.935 - Bees exemption.

This section shall not apply to primary and secondary schools, colleges and universities for the purpose of education. One hive, colony or swarm of honey bees shall be permitted within the city and it must be placed in an area free of human contact. Upon completion of said educational project the hive, colony or swarm of honey bees shall be immediately removed from the city.
