6.01.710 - Number of pets allowed.¶
A. No person shall own, keep, possess, harbor or maintain more than three dogs over four months of age per residence within the city of Farmersville.
B. No person shall own, keep, possess, harbor or maintain more than ten cats per residence within the city of Farmersville. The city of Farmersville nor any officer shall be required to take custody of any cat.

6.01.715 - Adoption or purchase.¶
A. Any person residing within the city of Farmersville adopting or purchasing a dog or cat from any animal shelter shall be spayed or neutered within sixty days of adoption or purchase of the animal. An extension of time to perform surgery may be granted if a veterinarian provides a medical determination that the surgery cannot be performed as scheduled and must be postponed.
B. As a condition of adoption, every dog so adopted or purchased from any animal shelter shall be microchipped at the time of adoption or purchase and it shall be the responsibility of the new owner to request same. The new owner shall assume all applicable fees of said microchipping.

6.01.720 - Exotic pets.¶
Every person owning, keeping, possessing or maintaining exotic pets shall prevent the pet(s) from escaping from the confines of the residence.
