There is created in the town, pursuant to the provisions of Cal. Gov’t Code § 40805.5, the Office of Director of Finance.

The Director of Finance shall be the accounting officer of the town and shall maintain records readily reflecting the financial condition of the town.

At the end of each fiscal year, the Director of Finance shall prepare and present to the Town Council a summary statement of receipts and disbursements, including opening and closing fund balances in the treasury.

(A) The Director of Finance shall cause a financial statement to be published once in a newspaper of general circulation printed and published in the town; provided that, if there is no such newspaper, the Director of Finance shall cause copies of the statement to be posted in three public, places in the town designated by ordinance as the places for posting all public notices.

(B) The financial statement shall be printed or posted not later than 120 days after the close of the fiscal year for which the report is compiled.

There are transferred to the Office of the Director of Finance the financial and accounting duties imposed upon the Town Clerk by Cal. Gov’t Code §§ 40802 through 40805.

The salary of the Director of Finance shall be fixed by resolution.
