§ 14.32.010. Purpose.

It is the purpose of this chapter to provide other regulations not included under other chapters of this title.

§ 14.32.020. Driving Through Funeral Processions.

No driver of a vehicle shall drive between vehicles comprising a funeral procession while they are in motion and when the vehicles in such processions are conspicuously so designated.

§ 14.32.030. Driving Vehicles on Sidewalks or Parkways Prohibited.

The driver of a vehicle, shall not drive within any sidewalk area or any parkway except at a permanent or temporary driveway. This section does not apply to bicycles. Regulations regarding bicycles are included under Chapter 14.56.

§ 14.32.035. Roller Skates, Coasters and Skateboards.

No person shall skate, use, or ride any roller skates, coaster, skateboard, bicycle, toy vehicle or other forms of transportation in any public drainage facility, culvert, ditch or channel, tennis courts, or gymnasiums.

§ 14.32.040. New Pavement.

No person shall place their hands or feet in, ride or drive any animal or any vehicle over or across any newly-made pavement or freshly-painted marking in any street when a barrier or sign is in place warning persons not to drive over or across such pavement or marking, or when a sign is in place stating that the street or any portion thereof is closed.

§ 14.32.050. Operating Vehicles on Private or Public Property.

No person shall operate or drive a motor vehicle, motorcycle, minibike, dune buggy, motor scooter, jeep or other form of motorized transportation upon the private property of another or upon any public property, which is not held open to the public for any vehicular use and which is not subject to provisions of the Vehicle Code, without having, and upon request of a peace officer, displaying written permission from the owner of such property or his/her agent or the person in lawful possession thereof, provided, however, the provisions of this section shall not apply to emergency vehicles, governmental agencies or to other persons driving upon such property with the written consent of the owner or person in lawful possession of such property, or to the owner him or herself, his or her family, employees, agents or lessees.

§ 14.32.080. Equestrian Crossings.

The City Council may by resolution designate equestrian crossings.

§ 14.32.085. Use of Streets and Cul-de-Sacs for Sports Activities.

No person shall erect basketball backboards or play basketball or any other sport upon any public street or cul-de-sac.

§ 14.32.090. Tampering with Traffic Counting Devices Prohibited.

It shall be unlawful for any person, except persons authorized by the City Traffic Engineer, to move, or tamper with or damage any traffic counting device.

§ 14.32.092. Vehicles Damaging Highway.

It shall be unlawful for any person to ride, drive, draw, or propel or permit to be ridden, driven, drawn or propelled along, upon or over any improved highway any vehicle, traction engine, harrow or disc harrow, disc plow or other implement that will tear up or in any manner disturb or damage the surface on the highway.

§ 14.32.093. Motorcycles Prohibited on Trails.

It is unlawful for any person to operate any motorcycle or power cycle on any trails used by hikers, horse riders or bicyclist.

§ 14.32.094. Flashing Lights.

No person not authorized by the City Council shall erect or maintain any device which directs a beam of light in a flashing sequence toward any highway, nor shall any person erect or maintain any electric advertising sign or similar device that interferes with the visibility of any official traffic control device or warning signal.

§ 14.32.095. Removal of Unofficial Devices.

The City Traffic Engineer shall be and is hereby authorized to remove or cause to be removed every unofficial sign, signal or device place, maintained or displayed contrary to the provisions of the Vehicle Code and this title.

§ 14.32.096. No Entrance Into Intersection That Would Obstruct Traffic.

No operator of any vehicle shall enter any intersection or a marked crosswalk unless there is sufficient space on the other side of the intersection or crosswalk to accommodate the vehicle he or she is operating without obstructing the passage of other vehicles or pedestrians, notwithstanding any traffic control signal indication to proceed.
