Sec. 5-141. - Length.

Impounded cats shall be held at the city pound for such period of time as the animal control officer determines that they do not constitute a hazard to the public health or to the other impounded animals; provided, that, the period of impounding shall not exceed forty-eight (48) hours.

Sec. 5-142. - Destruction of impounded cats.

Cats which the animal officer determines are a hazard to the public health or other impounded animals shall be destroyed immediately. All cats not redeemed within forty-eight (48) hours of impounding shall be destroyed.

Sec. 5-143. - Redemption fee.

A fee is hereby fixed for the redemption of impounded cats in the amount of two dollars ($2.00) per day.
